COVID Update 01/11/2020
Following on from the governments announcement yesterday we have been working hard to find out what the new lockdown/restrictions mean for us, our business, and our customers.
We would first of all like to thank everyone for the support and the kindness shown since coming back from the first lockdown in May. Our customers have been wonderful and worked with us to get your installations carried out safely and as quickly as possible.
Our showroom will be closed from now until at least the 2nd December 2020 should the government lift the restrictions for a non-essential shops to be closed. Some of our team will still be working from the showroom to carry out admin work. We will no doubt have to work on a smaller number of staff in the office at one time, so please be patient with us should you call or email us an enquiry.
Our installations will carry on inline with the governments guidelines for working in occupied homes. We are a COVID secure business and work hard at our safe working procedure. Our staff have had additional instructions about working within the home and we continue to carry out these new procedures. Before any installation, our team members and customers must comply with our COVID Policy and confirm that they are not isolating, suffering from coronavirus or living with a person that has recently tested positive.
There is no doubt that the lockdown will have an impact on installation dates, but we are working hard to minimise the disruption and keep things running as smoothly as we can.
If you have an installation booked but are unsure about us working in your home then please contact us as soon as possible. We will be happy to go over or safe working procedures or work with you to reschedule your installation.
Since coming back from the first lockdown we have actively encouraged customers to send us photos and details of their work required. We are happy to quote any job via photos to minimise the need to visit properties.

As of Thursday 5th November 2020 until at least 2nd December 2020 we will only be carrying out surveys for essential and emergency repairs. Again this is inline with the governments guidelines. Should you need to book a survey then please contact us urgently rather than waiting until 2nd December. We will get you booked in as quick as possible.
Since returning to work from the governments COVID-19 national lockdown our whole industry has experienced unprecedented increase and demand on all products with no indication of things slowing down.
As soon as it was possible and safe to do so, we reopened our business on smaller staff numbers than usual and tried to manage our way through the backlog of work with some staff who were unable to return to work still being furloughed. We have managed to retain all of our staff without the need to make any of our staff redundant during this awful time. We have actively increased our working hours and offer overtime to staff members as well as adding new members to the team since returning from lockdown.
However, we are receiving daily notifications from numerous suppliers regarding shortages and delays of materials – in particular PVCu products, hardware, glass and composite doors.
Unfortunately, the has affected the whole industry across the UK and now Europe and is not unique to us as a business. Therefore, this may have an impact on your proposed installation date which we will try to avoid wherever possible. We are working closely with manufactures and suppliers to try and minimise disruption to our customers and fulfil your order as best we can, but this may not be unavoidable in some cases.
Given the nature of the uncertain circumstances we would ask for your patience’s and understanding, and we will try to keep you informed at all times.
Rest assured that we do have your best interests at heart and I hope that you understand our team are working as hard as they possibly can to fulfil your order during these complex times.
I would once again like to thank our friends, customers and all the team at RLM for the support, orders and hard work that has been and will be carried out. We are a strong business with a fantastic reputation, and we are working harder than ever to make things work and continue to offer our products and services to our customers.
As you know we are a small family run business and your support really does mean the world to us, especially during these difficult times. We will continue to work as hard as we can to provide you with the service you deserve.
Our team have been brilliant and adapted to working in these ‘new normal’ times. We continue to work closely with our team and will strive to keep all our team employed without the need to furlough or make redundancies within the business.
